2016 ARCHIVE: BAND ANNOUNCEMENT: Timeshares

timeshares_promo2

Scrappy melodic punk from Philly, Brooklyn, and Long Island by way of down-state NY.

Timeshares have been at it for almost 7 years. 2 LPs including Bearable (Kiss of Death), and most recently Already Dead (SideOneDummy). Both albums are packed with songs about navigating life and the transformations that happen throughout that journey.

The room quite literally comes to life when Timeshares are on stage. Jon Hernandez (guitar/vox) and Mike Natoli(bass/vox) trade lead vocals through their set, but that doesn’t stop Eric (drums) and Jason (guitar) from joining in.

“The life in this room could melt the snow outside – if we tried.”

2016 ARCHIVE: BAND ANNOUNCEMENT: Slingshot Dakota

slingshotdakota_promo2

Slingshot Dakota is a two-piece indie rock band comprised of keyboards and drums. Inspired by punk and hardcore, this band is nothing short of energy. Carly Comando sings and plays keyboard through a variety of effects pedals while husband Tom Patterson drums like a madman. They do things with these instruments that most bands can’t do with a standard set up: they cram the sonic space they are in. While heartfelt melodies anchor the duo’s compelling sound, Slingshot has injected a bit of that ol’ punk rock abandon – not to mention a heaping does of good times – into the mix. The result is as tender as it is raucous and fun.

2016 ARCHIVE: BAND ANNOUNCEMENT: Rememberables

rememberables_promo2

The Rememberables is a fierce four-piece punk rock band hailing from Washington, D.C. Mixing DC punk with 90’s shoegaze, grunge, and art-rock, The Rememberables utilize heavy guitars, hammering drums, and pop sensibility in their live show, drawing comparisons to early Weezer, Dinosaur Jr., Smashing Pumpkins, & Jawbreaker. Solidifying its lineup in 2014 with the addition of Mat Cabral on bass and Chris Moore (of Coke Bust, Repulsion) on drums, the band has since released a 3-song 7” EP and toured the east coast in support of it. Currently, the band is performing locally and regionally, promoting, and preparing for the release of their debut LP on European label, Adagio830 Records.

2016 ARCHIVE: BAND ANNOUNCEMENT: Iron Chic

iron_chic_promo2

What’s not to love about Iron Chic? Woah-oh’s and sing-alongs in every song make it near impossible to stand still during Lubrano’s anthems of disappointment, angst and uncertainty. Phil Douglas (Latterman), Gordon Lafler and Mike Bruno add a layer of melody and drive that keeps you wanting more.
So, put your arm around someone and head into the crowd to point your finger high into the air and sing your heart out.

2016 ARCHIVE: BAND ANNOUNCEMENT: American Television

amtv_promo2

American Television has been around for 3 years in different incarnations. But their current and final line up including Matt, Edwin, Steve and Bryan seems to get the perfect blend of 90’s grunge and melodic punk rock. Contrary to popular belief, Craigslist can do more than bring people together to share a half eaten box of macaroni or a knee cap fetish. It’s absolutely responsible for forging this friendship and AMTV’s unique sound.

Brick Top is four friends playing punk-inspired alternative tunes. Drawing on influences from 90s stalwarts Jawbreaker and Archers of Loaf, Chris, Chris, Rob and Matt focus on the feel and energy of their music and welcome imperfections into the mix.

They’re not sloppy, they’ve just had a few too many.
